The trail system is currently closed due to construction work for the Fortis BC Eagle Mountain Woodfibre Gas Pipeline project. Our entrance trail (Sidewinder) is closed while construction of a new high voltage transmission line takes place. Please see the Closures and News pages for the latest information!
Welcome!
Dirt bike riders first built trail on Coquitlam’s Eagle Mountain in the early 1960s, against the backdrop of roaring engines at the Westwood Racetrack. Today, Eagle Mountain is also enjoyed by hiker adventurers, dog walkers and mountain bike riders who utilize moto maintained trail for safe accessibility for all user groups. The modern trail network is made up of expert level single-track and trials trails, along with many intersecting connectors that are themselves old logging skidder roads dating back to the days of steam. Some remnats of this history is still visible in places, with large pieces of cast iron logging equipment which can occasionally be discovered.
Eagle Mountain Moto is a registered non-profit organization formed in 2015. Our mandate is to maintain and foster positive relationships with all user groups and stakeholders including local down-stream fish hatcheries and provincial government officials, while maintaining a fully compatible non-destructive shared trail environment to be enjoyed by all. Throughout the year our members continuously work to identify unsafe dead trees, clear windfall from trails and allow drainage to prevent erosion with a mindset to provide safe access to casual family trail walkers and riders alike.
In the fall of 2016 EMM began the application process for official Section 56/57 stewardship with the provincial government of The Exterminator Loop, a 17KM expert single-track trail loop. Our volunteers work in direct partnership with Recreation Sites and Trails BC and TORCA (Tri-Cities Off-Road Cycling Association) as well as other organizations to preserve this unique recreational resource in a sustainable manner.
We ask that all club members to abide by our riding Code of Conduct. In a nutshell, this means: Please obey signage and please do not ride motorbikes in or through creeks, on mountain bike-only trails or trails that have been decommissioned.
If you enjoy the trails on Eagle Mountain, or have in the past, please consider joining the club. The price is an affordable $20/year and our club’s volunteers are 100% supported by these memberships. Your contribution greatly helps supporting continued maintenance efforts on Eagle Mountain.
